2013 has been quite a year with a lot going on for me and my business. Here are ten happenings in the life of this blog and shop! (In no particular order.)
1. The Curvy Elle Studio & Show Room
In July I signed a lease on an office space for the first official The Curvy Elle Studio & Show Room. I was able to move this business out of my dad’s guest bedroom and into a real business space. This big move has let me expand The Shop and become a “for real” business.
2. Expanded Shop
I have experimented with different shop offerings such as Intimates (Plus) and Vintage Tees (Plus). As well as expanding the non-vintage sections of the shop. I’m not sure if these sections are a permanent fixture, but I love that I have been able to experiment with The Shop.
In August, I put together a Pop-Up Shop at an annual local antiques and flea market. The Pop-Up Shop was an experiment. It really ended up being real learning experience. I wouldn’t ever change the fact of doing it, but I know for the future, it needs to be done a lot different. You live and you learn.
4. Started Selling T-shirt & Tote Original Designs
More of my own designing and creativity going into The Curvy Elle Brand. I am positive this will only lead to greater things!
5. Expanded The Curvy Elle Brand
Now offering Modern Vintage plus size skirts made from vintage and kitsch fabric. It’s a beginning that will eventually lead to more.
Thanks to The Clucking Housewives for giving me this fun opportunity to share more about myself! To learn a little more about me, make sure to check it out!
7. Reached Over 100K Page Views
Now The Curvy Elle Blog is actually over 167K views! Woo hoo! Thanks for the Support everyone!
8. First Ever Holiday Giveaway
It was fun to get my readers/admirers excited about something! I loved being able to offer you all something original from this blog and The Shop! I hope to do this many more times in the coming new year!
A trip of self reflection and appreciation of my life (and business) here in California. Sometimes it’s fun to yearn for what you don’t have, but to know you have it pretty great just where you’re at!
10. Body Image: Fight the Fight
This was one of those difficult and good things that happened in my life. Someone I cared about really hurt me and made me question myself and my whole self worth, yet I overcame it and persevered. My fight to continue to have a positive body image is an ever present challenge. This year has led me to see how strong I really am.
