As this blouse is a-symmetrical, so is everything. Nothing is perfect. Nothing is quite the same. Life is never one sided. You think that one thing is the perfect end to your chapter, then you turn the page and learn that it’s not what you wanted.
This New Year has shined a little light on where I have come and gone this year. I am truly surprised that I am living a life I never thought would be perfect–but for the most part it is (at least for this point in my life). I never thought that living back in the city I grew up in, running a vintage business, creating this blog would make me happy. I thought New York and working for some design company was the perfect symmetry to my life. But it wasn’t. Here I am, the happiest I have ever been–in a picture, not too perfect.
I only have to keep reminding myself that beauty can be found in the imperfect. And the seemingly perfect, not so much. Look below the surface and you will find it–beauty and the beast.
