Since arriving in Utah I have had the chance to do some thrifting here. I have found some great pieces to add to The Shop. I can’t wait to add them and do some new photo shoots!
Differences I’ve noticed about thrifting in Utah versus California (Bay Area) and New York are:
1. The type of clothes–a lot of patriotic, handmade, and kitschy items.
2. The types of people working in the stores–nice middle class teenagers versus NY and CA both have a lot of diversity and a lot of the people who work in the thrift stores are people needing a leg up in life (to put it kindly).
3. Stores seem very, very clean and organized. Everything is sized and sometimes even color coordinated.
I have had a very pleasant experience thrifting in Utah and seeing family and sights, but it will also be nice to head home tomorrow. Time to get back to reality!
