I have been experimenting with some more upcycled clothing since I moved back to California. I want to share some of my experiments. These will hopefully be for sale in The Shop very soon (along with a lot more upcycled plus size clothing)! I am one busy bee!
This dress is made from a thrifted tank top and 1970’s sheet. I love the contrast with these two very bold prints. It makes the dress very playful!
I left a raw edge at the waist seam and purposely top stitched the seam with a zig-zag stitch. The hem is also finished with a zig-zag top stitch. The waist has tucks all the way around the waist from front to back.

This fun striped ’70s inspired skirt is also upcycled from an old 1970’s sheet. I love the mustard and orange combination. This somewhat basic skirt looks gorgeous in this stripe.
The waist has an elastic band that is sewed into a casing and gathered. The hem is top stitched with a contrasting zig-zag stitch for a fun detail.
