Close Your Eyes and It’s Past…

This year was my 10 year high school reunion, which I (of course) did not attend for a multitude of reasons that I will not share, because I know you all don’t want me to go on and on… Now you know how old I am and my telling you this has a purpose of sorts.

When I was out driving around scouting out a place to take some pictures today, the above song (“Story of my Life”) by Social Distortion started playing on the radio.

I had a bit of a “swoosh” moment. A sort of déja vù. Thinking of the last 10 years and where I’ve been and where I have come and here I am back to the beginning in a way. Come full circle.

I am living back in my “home town.” A place I never comprehended spending my adult life. Maybe it’s permanent, maybe it’s not. But, I am here again back at the beginning, but not the beginning.

Physically, my town has changed and morphed into something different than what it was when I was growing up. I also, have a different perspective and view point of it having left and now returned. An appreciation for its good parts and bad. I am a little settled, but not.

I am playing the waiting game. Biding my time and mapping out a game plan. Where to next? What to next?

“The world is my oyster.” Yes, in many ways I am so different than the 17 year old girl ready to start her “adult” life, but I am still in many ways the same…Head strong, inspired, independent, always looking for “more,” always wanting what’s out of reach…

…A Lady

July 26, 2013

Last week I posted the photo shoot “Lavender & a Lady.”  There were some pictures that didn’t fit in with the post, so I am here sharing the rest of this lovely shots.
This morning I was headed out to do some thrifting, when I got the brilliant idea to get French Toast sticks at Burger King. I thought I was slick enough to drive and dunk my French Toast sticks in syrup at the same time. One turn and one U-turn later both me and my car were covered  in syrup. I had syrup in places I never thought possible! I even had to clean up myself and the car with dashboard wipes because it was the only thing I had. Life lesson learned: JUST SAY ‘NO’ to dunking and driving!
