There is a Catholic elementary school down the street from my childhood home. When I was little, I remember the girls would wear little plaid pinafores and blouses. This jumper reminds me of those little girls from my early years. I feel like I should be skipping down the halls of school and playing jump rope in the school yard in this little school girl-esque jumper and blouse.

Oh, to be back to that time of innocence… Except it wasn’t so nice and it wasn’t all so innocent. I was always pretty miserable in school, especially in elementary school.  Little girls can be the meanest of the mean. I wish I had more balls back then, I would have torn those girls a new one time after time. But, I was always scared of getting in trouble. I was a good little girl. Now? Not so much.

 

I’ve had to keep reminding myself lately to think of the “simple pleasures.” When the mundane of the regular life gets to be a burden or the anxiousness of what cannot be controlled  becomes too much–I have to think of this. Life is wonderful, but you have to work at making it that way. As it is with many things in life, it all comes down to effort…
