I had the pleasure of test driving the lovely “Francesca Dress in Tuberose” by Igigi recently. When I first saw it in their look book, the beautiful red floral watercolor print is what first caught my eye, then the lovely silhouette. It’s retro feel definitely tugged at my vintage loving heart.
For someone with more of a pear/hourglass shape, this dress works well. The skirt is somewhat flared (helping to cover any problem areas in the tummy) and the fitted surplice bodice accentuates the good stuff. This knit dress has a thick, supportive lining helping to make it more flattering against the muffin top/rolls (I wore “super power panties” aka shapewear underwear, but I would have looked fine without it). For someone like myself, who feels comfort and style can (and SHOULD) come hand in hand, this dress makes me happy in that respect. I look forward to taking this lovely red thing out for a second test drive…maybe to a nice dinner? (Hint)
Besides this dress in general, another thing that impresses me about Igigi, is that their products are locally designed and produced in San Francisco (where I’m from – Bay Area born and raised!). It makes me proud to see a great plus size company right in my own backyard!
