My version of the bathroom “selfie.” And, no, I am not taking a crap it the toilet picture.

As of late, I have been travelling down a path of self and life reflection. Due to personal events and a multitude of things going on with me right now. I am usually a solitary person, but even more recently, I’ve been feeling the need to be alone. To think. To figure out. To get over.

Some things can only be healed by our own thoughts and tears. No conversation or analyzation will do.

This shoot was taken during one of those times. I took a trip out to my grandmother’s house in Half Moon Bay, CA. This house is a trip. After you get over the must and dust, it’s like you stepped back in time to 1967. From the decor to the contents of the bathroom medicine chest.

So, of course, I had to do a photo in the glowing neon pink bathroom that coincidentally matched my pastel rainbow dress!

I’ve had these vintage gloves for a couple of months now, and I have been waiting for the perfect dress to pair them with.  This little floral number came along recently and I knew they were the perfect match for a fun 1950’s inspired photo shoot!

The black heels are also vintage from the 1950’s-1960’s. I usually cannot really wear spike heels, but for some reason this pair was actually fairly comfortable!

Sometimes you have to let the outfit speak for itself, but the lavender added a little spice to things! And, yes, I did “borrow” some lavender to take back to my office. Don’t tell anybody!
