New York

West Side Summer

June 27, 2012

Today was beautiful – warm, but not too war with a cool breeze! It was a great day to tryout one of my recent finds!

There are all kinds of things I could have done today, but it felt like one of those days to stroll along and look at pretty things. I decided to pick one direction and see where fate lead me. Fate took me west to the Hudson River and the Hudson River Park in the West Village/Meat Packing area.

I haven’t spent much time along the river and it was nice to have some quiet time. Flowers, monstrous sized bumble bees, water, kids playing, people sun bathing…

Simplicity at its finest. Alone time to be savored…

Appreciating the time I have left as a resident of this great city of New York…

Limbo

June 25, 2012

It’s hard right now. I am here in New York for about another 2 weeks and I feel like I’m in limbo. I can’t really pack because I still need a lot of my stuff. I really hate being stuck in a point where I’m not quite settled, but I can’t get going either.

I think it is time to start making daily plans for myself. I started with trying to do some artwork for this site and I really want to do more on that side of things. I also need to make a list of things I want to do in New York that I still haven’t gotten around to doing. Off the top of my head, a few of them are:

  1. Ride the subway to the northern most corner of Central Park and walk down.
  2. Go to Governors Island
  3. See the Elsa Schiaparelli exhibition at The Met
  4. Go to the Jazz Age Lawn Party at Governors Island (This won’t be happening for me this year, because it already happened for the year.)
  5. Go to one of the free summer outdoor movie nights at one of the parks
  6. Visit my favorite museum, The Frick Collection
