“While the flowers, pale and unreal in the moonlight, floated away upon the river…”
“…thus do greater things that once were in our breasts, and near our hearts, flow from us to the eternal sea.”
– Charles Dickens, Little Dorrit
I have a really hard time staying focused with being content. I guess you can say I have a hard time staying focused on anything for a very long period of time. This is good and bad. I never get stuck in the doldrums or boredom for very long before I want to pull myself out — even if it is kicking and screaming.
For instance, every couple of months I get to a point with my business (and this blog) where I start feeling a ‘staleness.’ I’m always having to figure out, “what’s next?” or “what’s new?” Sometimes it is frustrating being someone who is habitually unsatisfied with something in my life. But, shit, life would get so damned boring otherwise. So, I pick the lesser of two evils and try to be happy with not being happy.
And…onto the next thing! (To complain about…)
